We bought a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure machine (CPAP) for the neonatology department of the hospital of St. Jean de Dieu in Tanguieta, Benin. The hospital, which we visited, has over 400 beds and has become a reference for the WHO in the region.  A very high percentage of new born children die here because of broncho-pulmonary problems or survive with cerebral palsy or epilepsy; these issues will be treated and solved by the new machine.

We supplied medicines for the rural clinic of Mouda in Cameroon. Mouda is a little town of some 3,000 inhabitants in the deep north of Cameroon. In this region infant mortality (0-5 years) is at the very level of about 12% of children. The major illnesses are malaria, intestinal parasitosis, lung infections, and malnutrition.

As schools are re-opening post Covid close-down and families are in economic distress, we supplied school books and sanitizing material for the young Campesinos, coming from the humble and far away Sierra, who are pupils of the school Hermano Miguel in Latacunga, Ecuador.
