Forty NGOs, foundations and service clubs attended this annual meeting, which was organised by the Department of International Cooperation.
In his opening speech, the Government Minister, who was chairing the meeting for the first time, welcomed the spirit of solidarity in Monaco. He emphasised the role that the Monegasque OSIs play alongside the State to help reach the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) unanimously adopted by the 193 member States of the United Nations to eradicate poverty by 2030.
The Minister highlighted the quality and importance of the platform osimonaco.org. This platform, which has now been translated into English, makes it possible to group together all the activities of Monegasque civil society and give them better visibility, particularly via social media, for example the Monaco Solidaire channel, which is available on Monaco Channel.
This meeting was also an opportunity for the Prince’s Government to announce the launch in November 2015 of a call for projects for 2016 (co-financed projects) and present the programme of training courses for the coming year.
